University of Detroit Mercy School of Law hosted its first virtual open house on January 8, 2021. Many participants attended the event: 73 future students from across the US and Canada and 41 members of the Detroit Mercy Law community, including alumni, current students, faculty, and administrators.
After a welcome by Dean Phyllis L. Crocker, Professor Jelani Jefferson Exum taught a mock law class. Then, future students moved between virtual breakout rooms to speak with small groups representing different aspects of the Detroit Mercy Law student experience. The open house concluded with a panel discussion with current 2L and 3L students.
