Dual-JD-Deans-Reception.pngUniversity of Detroit Mercy School of Law and University of Windsor Faculty of Law hosted this year’s Canadian & American Dual JD Reception for Incoming Students via Zoom on May 21, 2020. Faculty, administrators, alumni, and current students welcomed this year’s incoming class

The event opened with remarks by Windsor Law Dean Christopher Waters and Detroit Mercy Law Dean Phyllis L. Crocker.  Stephanie Winbigler, Director of Admissions for the Dual JD Program, led a series of brief introductions.  Thereafter, incoming students met their fellow future Dual JD classmates during a series of small group breakout sessions led by current members of the Dual JD community.

“We have an extremely impressive group of incoming students,” commented Winbigler. “Everyone here is excited to see what they accomplish during their three years in the program and throughout their careers.”

The Dual JD Program offered by Detroit Mercy Law and Windsor Law is the only comparative program of its kind in North America in which students earn two law degrees in three years.  Graduates of the program are eligible to be licensed in both the US and Canada.
