Chandler Dorris, 3L, is a recipient of the 2020 Scholarship for Academic Excellence in Corporate and Business Classes from the Michigan Chapter of the Association of Corporate Council (ACC).   

“I am honored and grateful for the ACC award,” Dorris said.  

In addition to excelling in corporate and business courses, Dorris worked as an intern at Dickinson Wright throughout law school, where she focused on patent and trademark prosecutionDorris is a chemical and biomolecular engineer and patent agent.  She is a member of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association, and she cofounded and served as president of two student organizations--the Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law Society and the Detroit Mercy Law Historical Society. 

“One of the most valuable parts of the Detroit Mercy Law experience is the easy access to Detroit professional networks and the support of alumni,” Dorris said of her time in law school.  

Most recently, Chandler accepted a summer associate position at Ropes & Gray, a preeminent global law firm that serves clients in key centers of business, finance, technology and government.
