Short blog post today because I’m fighting off an ear infection, and it’s accompanied by a nasty headache.
Today was actually a pretty fun day in law school. The morning started with watching the contract video in the library with friends of mine from another section. I then sold Turkey Tokens (I am also a member of the St. Thomas More Society) in the atrium for an hour and then headed to…my last civil procedure class of the semester! Although there are two more scheduled class periods, we have gotten through all of the material, so we are free to use that time to review on our own. I am all for extra free time.
In torts, we have been learning about nuisances, basically, obnoxious noises and stinky smells. We had a hypothetical case about a couple people who moved into a new housing development next to a stinky and noisy farm; the farmer was relying on a statute that provided protection against nuisance for people in agriculture and there were a number of different issues related to the statute and three cases that had interpreted the statute. It was pretty cool to think about all of the different arguments that could be made (one half of the class represented the farmer, and the other the homeowners) and attempt to articulate them…I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that this is what I thought law school would be like…
After that, I came home and ate dinner. I just have contracts reading for tomorrow and then I will probably be heading to bed early.
