Today was Day 14 in my “let’s see how many days in a row I can make the trip downtown” adventure.
Today was the second day of the Patrick A. Keenan Memorial Appellate Advocacy Tournament. As an incoming editor of law review, I am not eligible for a position as a national team member next year (and competing for those positions was a big part of this competition), so the pressure was off. My partner and I ended up doing really well, and made it through to the semifinals! Not bad for a pair who went in with the hope of just doing a respectable job...I have to say though: after five rounds of argument on the same problem, if I never hear about generic drugs or federal preemption again, it will be too soon!
Now that the competition is over, I really need to get my law review comment together: it’s due eight days from today. I really love my topic, and I think I have a good argument, so now I just really want to make sure it’s written in a way that does it justice.
I plan on working really hard…starting tomorrow. After an exhausting day at school yesterday, a full day of argument today, all following the busiest two weeks of my life, I think I’ve bought myself a night off.
