Spring Break!! 

Some people have exciting trips and such planned for this break, but I’m pretty satisfied with sleeping in and taking a bit of lower-guilt free time. 

Yesterday was my first real day of break…and it started with a trip downtown to do some coaching for one of the national moot court teams. All of the junior moot court members have coaching requirements, and I want to make sure I have enough time to complete my requirements before the team goes to compete in a few weeks. 

From there, I went to Cobo to put in some hours at the Coast Guard table at the Detroit Boat Show. It was a pretty fun day: I got to answer a ton of questions and talk to a bunch of different people. The show always sticks the government booths in the same section, so I got to meet people from a bunch of different agencies: so many interesting stories! 

Today was a bit of a lost day: sleeping in, watching some television, and then doing some much needed shopping. My all-time favorite shoes, the ones I wore pretty much every day, yeah, they needed to go. In addition to a white paint stain and worn out, peeling off soles, they also had a nice hole that made them incredibly impractical. Thank goodness for shoe sales.  

As nice as it’s been over the past two days pretending that I don’t have homework I should be doing, I’m thinking tomorrow is going to be a more productive day. I’m going to start with cleaning my room, and then move on to law review. As my advisor reminded me, I have this little thing called a comment to be working on…

Meagan is a May 2012 graduate of UDM Law. She was admitted to the Michigan Bar in November, and she recently joined the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor’s Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.

During law school, Meagan was active around the School of Law as the Law Review's Executive Editor of Outside Articles and the Vice-President of the St. Thomas More Society. She participated in the Criminal Trial Clinic, and took advantage of two internships with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and a summer internship with Judge Stephen Murphy of the Eastern District of Michigan.

In her free time, Meagan also serves as a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, enjoys tap dancing, and can't resist reading a good book.
