I am almost done with ALTA work for the semester; I just have to hold on for another several hours and get my client letter looking fabulous and then I will be finished!! I am looking forward to having time to really pick up the studying efforts this weekend; up until now, my ALTA has been my main focus, and I feel like my studying for my other classes really isn’t where it should be.
Today, it took me 55 minutes to get to school (where it usually takes 30-35). Yikes. I always allow myself an hour in the morning to make sure that I am on time, and I guess this morning my timing was just right. It does make me nervous for snowy days…I-96 E is not the most fun during morning rush hour.
My first class, property, we had a guest speaker who is a US attorney who works on fair housing issues. She spoke about the Fair Housing Act, which doesn’t seem interesting, but it actually was. She deals with discrimination in housing, and it was shocking how much of it still goes on today…one of the cases she mentioned involved an apartment complex that I pass by all the time!
After that, I had my usual Wednesday lunch with my friends from another section, and then I had torts class. Then, I went home and got started with my client letter. I am now taking a quick break to type this up and make some dinner and then it’s back to my ALTA paper and the world of guaranties and consideration…
