In celebration of 100 years of legal education, the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law formed the Dean’s Circle of Distinction to honor our alumni and friends whose generosity supports the School of Law in a special way.
Membership in the Dean’s Circle of Distinction is determined annually based on gifts made to the Law School Annual Fund during the fiscal year (July 1-June 30).
Membership levels are as follows:
Dean’s Champions ($10,000+) This is our most distinguished group of benefactors whose support to the School of Law is unparalleled.
Dean’s Partners ($5,000 - $9,999) In keeping with the tradition of our illustrious alumni who have left an indelible mark on Michigan’s legal community, members of this club are leaders in their own right.
Dean’s Associates ($2,500 - $4,999) Members of this club are crucial to the success of our institution and provide invaluable support for our programs.
Dean’s 651 Club ($1,000-$2,499) This club is named after the numerical address of the School of Law, symbolic of our downtown presence and our importance to this area by providing outstanding legal education.
Dean’s Hosmer Society ($500-$999) This level is available exclusively to alumni who have graduated within the past ten years. It is named after Hon. George S. Hosmer, the first Dean of the School of Law when it opened in 1912. Law alumni may recognize his name for another reason, as it is used in the annual 1L moot court competition held in the fictitious “State of Hosmer.”
