Project X

'Project X' will be teaching the Examen, a way of reflecting developed by St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. The Examen looks at the events of our day and helps us in finding the presence of God in our everyday lives. It's especially good for reflecting on our desires to serve and our experiences of service, even in small, everyday ways.

Here's what's requested from participants:

--1 meeting per week for discussion and guidance, beginning the week of 9 March. Meetings will end at the end of Lent (Palm Sunday is 13 April), unless a group would want to continue to meet.
--So each group would meet four or five times total. (And meetings can certainly take place at UDM Law as well as at Lansing-Reilly Jesuit Residence over ice cream or dinner!)
--Daily (or several times weekly) personal commitment to using the Examen (about 20 min of time for reflection).
--Meetings will be scheduled based on participants' schedules. (Determined via a Doodle.)
--Also, I'd be available to participants for individual, spiritual conversation, as desired and needed.

The meetings will present a variety of traditional and creative ways for using the Examen and will partly be instruction and partly group conversation about our practice with some faith sharing. Meeting length will depend on the size of the group, but for a group of six, I envision about 45 minutes, an hour maximum."
