Summer Program

Each summer, Detroit Mercy Law operates a conditional admission program also known as the Summer Program for applicants whose academic history and/or LSAT score(s) do not meet the minimum standards of the entering class, but who show potential for the study of law. Participants who satisfactorily demonstrate ability in the Summer Program are only eligible for admission to the American JD degree program at Detroit Mercy Law. The Summer Program begins in late May and is approximately eight weeks long.

Detroit Mercy Law advises applicants to submit an application by April 1 in the year they wish to be considered for the Summer Program.

An applicant who wants to be considered for the Summer Program must indicate so on the application and include a statement describing the circumstances that qualify the applicant for admission to the Program.

Applicants must have a high LSAT score at the 15th percentile of that test’s administration to be considered for the Summer Program.
